Investors of AG Leventis to enjoy 20% dividend increase in 2010 end

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE) – Investors of AG Leventis Nigeria Plc (Leventis) operating in the Conglomerate Sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) will enjoy a 20 percent (20%) increase in dividend payout in the Financial Year End (FYE) 2010.

The Company Friday April 15 2011 announced its Corporate Action for the review period by informing the Stock Exchange that it is proposing a dividend of 12 Kobo to investors of the Company in the 2010 year end; compared to 10 Kobo it paid in year 2009 end ; indicating an increase of 20%.

Also, Leventis notified the Exchange that closure date of Register of shareholders of the Company is Monday May 09 to Friday May 13 2011; while payment date has been fixed for Friday June 10 2011.

The Firm has scheduled its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Thursday June 09 2011 to hold at Mainland Hotel in Lagos Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Company’s Third Quarter (Q3) Result for the period ended September 30 2010 showed that Profit After Tax (PAT) dipped by 71.49%; when it recorded N274.875 million in Q3 of year 2010 compared to N964.182 million in Q3 of year 2009.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) in the review period was N554.649 million in Q3 of 2010 compared to N1.417 billion; representing a decline of 60.9%.

Turnover also dropped from N10.695 billion in Q3 of 2009 to N9.669 billion in the same period of 2010; showing a drop of 9.6%.

As at the time of filling in this Report, investadvocate is yet to obtain the Audited Result for the year 2010 end.
