Dangote Sugar 2014 Pretax Profit Decline 6.1%

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s top sugar producers, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc said on Friday its 2014 audited year ended December 31 pretax profit declined 6.1 percent to N15.27 billion from N16.26 billion recorded a year earlier.

On the contrary, profit after tax (PAT) grew 7.2 percent to N11.63 billion from N10.85 billion posted in 2013 said the sugar producer, owned by Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest person.

Revenue dipped from N103.15 billion in 2013 to N94.85 billion in the review period of 2014; indicating a drop of 8.16 percent, the cement producer said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
