Experts at the just concluded workshop entitled “‘’Invest 2016 Traders & Investors Summit,” talked on the way forward and were investors should look towards in 2016.

InvestData in statement by Ambrose Omordion, chief operating officer and made available to InvestAdvocate said the prolonged volatile and corrective mood of the market has caused many investors, including market players to lose money in the global and domestic markets. “This is due to the transition in the global economy that has slowed down growth in many economies following the unprecedented collapse of crude oil price,” the firm said.

According to the investment consulting firm, such economic slowdown calls for proactive economic managers and political will to redirect the whole system to a progressive transformation that would boost confidence again in the market.

It noted the nation’s equities market has been troubled with prolonged down market that eroded investor confidence as the economy lacking direction.

“Discerning investors and market operators that understand market volatility and correction are timing and positioning for the market to bottom out,” the statement affirmed.

It further affirmed these, coupled with the prevailing value the market has presented now as many fundamentally sound stocks are selling at a discount, the full year earnings season which is the major season many listed companies had December as year-end that would drive substantial rally if the numbers are impressive and beat forecast with good dividend to investors.

Also the expected plans and policy of the new cabinet when implemented would impact on the system.

InvestData noted that the returns that accrue to investors and market operators during bull, bear or market correction differ. “The simple difference is trading with the knowledge and understanding of market timing on the general direction, while combining technical & fundamental analysis in picking individual stocks,” it added.

The company at the workshop unveiled to participants how to combine technical and fundamental analysis to pick the right stocks for short term trading and manage value trade, when to sell using technical analysis to avoid losing trading capital and how to spot opportunities created by the market correction.

Other investment strategies unveiled at the workshop include how to select sizable portfolio and manage risk using the technical analysis, discovering how to profit from earnings season and minimize losses.
