The Nigerian equities market closed positive today as NSE-ASI gained 3.54% to close at 27,562.48pts.

In today’s trade, market breadth index was positive with 37 gainers against 10 losers.

FBNH (+10.00%) was the top gainer today while TRIPPLEG (-9.38%) led the losers’ chart.                                                                                                 

UBA (+4.73%) was the most actively traded stock with about 156million units of shares worth about N1.40billion. 

Sector Performance

·         NSE Industrial Index: Gained by 6.07%, due to the rise in DANGCEM (+9.33%) and WAPCO (+5.69%).

·         NSE Banking Index: Advanced by 3.87%, due to the buy interests UBN (+9.48%), FIDELITY (+8.22%), ETI (+5.26%), UBA (+4.73%), ZENITHBANK (+3.81%) and GUARANTY (+2.46%).

·         NSE Consumer Goods Index: Rose by 0.36%, on the back of buy interest in HONYFLOUR (+8.91%), FLOURMILL (+8.84%), PZ (+4.46%) and NASON (+3.79%).

·         NSE Oil & Gas Index: Inched up by 0.17%, on the back of the gains in CONOIL (+9.74%), CAVERTON (+8.61%) and OANDO (+1.30%).
