MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Appreciates +0.19%, Driven by Industrial, Banking Counters

Market movers: UNITYBNK (+9.62%)WAPCO (+9.13%)SEPLAT (-9.99%) and CUTIX (-6.25%)

Sector Performances: Banking (+1.45%), Industrial (+0.48%), Oil & Gas (-4.89%), and Consumer Goods (-0.05%). 

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume increased by 2%, total value declined by 2%, compared to last week Friday as investors have traded about 63million units of shares worth about N661million. WAPCO (+9.13%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 13million units of shares accounting for about 21% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close up today if the gains in Industrial and Banking names persist.
