Nigerian Stocks Dip -0.28% amid Sustained Bearish Activity

The domestic equities market sustained its bearish momentum as the NSEASI fell further by 0.28% to 25,424.91 points at the close of the trading session today.

Hence, the year to date loss of the NSEASI worsened to 5.3%. Given the sell pressure,the Exchange recorded 7 gainers as against 23 losers as share prices of Tickers such as OKOMUOIL, UNILEVER,ZENITHBANK and UBA dipped by 1.27%, 4%, 2.96% and 3.17% respectively.

Similarly, Performance across sub-sector gauges tracked closed in red save for the NSE Industrial index which rose by 0.05%. The NSE Banking led the laggards by 1.54%, followed by the NSE Insurance, NSE Consumer Goods and NSE Industrial indices by 0.39%, 0.19% and 0.11% respectively. Meanwhile, market activity picked up as the total volume andv alue of stocks traded rose by 7.01% and 40.48% to0.26billion units and N2.8 billion.
