INTRADAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Gain +0.07%, Driven by Consumer Names

Market movers: DANGSUGAR (+6.70%), UNITYBNK (+5.56%)CHAMS (-4.76%), and JAPAULOIL (-4.76%).

Sector Performances: Consumer Goods (+0.55%), Banking (-0.11%)Oil & Gas and Industrial.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume fell by 22%, total value rose by 38%, compared to yesterday, as investors have traded about 65million units of shares worth approximately N711illion. FBNH (+1.02%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 30million units of shares accounting for about 46% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close up today if the gains in Consumer names persist.
