MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Down -0.22% Dragged by Banking, Consumer Goods Counters

Market movers:  INTBREW (-9.11%), FLOURMILL (-6.82%), ETERNA (+9.92%) and UNIONDAC (+8.33%).

Sector Performances:  Consumer Goods (-0.31%), Banking (-0.09%), Industrial and Oil & Gas.                                                                                                                

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume rose by 46%, compared to this time last week Friday, as investors have traded about 384million units of shares. UBA is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 74million units of shares accounting for about 19% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the losses in the Banking and Consumer Goods sectors persist.
