MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Down -0.11%, Dragged by Banking, Industrial Counters

Market movers: INITSPLC (-9.62%), NEM (-9.50%) and BETAGLAS (+8.00%), REGALINS (+6.67%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-0.49%), Industrial (-0.09%) , Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value increased by 29% and 43% respectively compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 67million units of shares worth N697million. ZENITHBANK (-0.19%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 11million units of shares accounting for about 16% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the losses in the Banking and Industrial sectors persist.
