MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Down -0.13%, Dragged by Banking Coungters

Market movers: NCR (-9.71%),  NEIMETH (-9.09%),  SOVRENINS (+8.70%) and UNITYBNK (+7.58%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-0.93%), Consumer Goods (+0.01%), Industrial and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value declined 14% and 63% respectively, compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 71million units of shares worth  N859million.  ZENITHBANK (+0.10%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 20million units of shares accounting for about 28% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the loss in Banking sector persists.
