MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Appreciates +0.22%, Boosted by Banking, Consumer Goods Sectors

Market movers:,  UCAP(+8.42%),VITAFOAM (+5.96%), NEIMETH (-6.32%) and COURTVILLE (-4.76%).

Sector Performances:, Banking (+1.69%), Consumer Goods (+0.08%),  Industrial, and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value declined by 78% and 74% respectively, compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 79million units of shares worth  N947million.  AIICO(+0.04%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 19million units of shares accounting for about 24% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close up today if the gains in Banking and Consumer Goods sectors persist.
