Tier-1 Banks Drag NGXASI to Bearish Zone -1.04%

The NGXASI declined by 1.04% today to close at 100,717.21pts, as the selloffs on DANGCEM (-4.37%), ZENITHBANK (-8.41%) and UBA (-8.00%) propelled the market into the red terrain.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, as buying interest was observed across the curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield moderated by 1bp to close at 18.77%. Similarly,, the FGN Bond market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined slightly by 2bps to close at 19.27%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira weakened by 1.07% to close at NGN 1,148.14/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) decreased by 0.09% to USD90.02pb.
