FBNH, GTCO, STANBIC Drags NGXASI -0.31% into Bearish Zone

The NGXASI declined by 0.31% today to close at 99,539.75pts, as the selloffs on FBNH (-9.83%), STANBIC (-4.76%) and GTCO (-2.47%) drove the market into the negative territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market exhibited a bearish spike, as sell pressure was noticed at the long end of the curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield rose by 5.87% to close at 25.18%. In the same vein, the FGN Bond market traded on a bullish note as the Average FGN Bond yield decreased by 23bp to close at 19.06%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 1.38% to close at NGN 1,169.99/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 1.38% to USD87.63pb.
