NGXASI Dips -0.22% on Selloffs in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.22% today to close at 97,962.24pts, as the selloffs observed in GTCO (-7.89%), DANGSUGAR (-10.00%) and SEPLAT (-2.33%) drove the equities market into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market continued its bullish trend today, the buy pressure on the short and mid tenor instruments persisted. As a result, Average T-Bills yield fell by 12bps to close at 22.17%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond market traded on a tepid note, as the Average FGN Bond yield slightly increased by 1bp to close at 18.94%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 5.96% to close at NGN 1,419.11/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.94% to USD88.66pb.
