The NGXASI declined by 0.89% today to close at 98,703.68pts, as the selloffs observed in AIRTELAFRI (-10.00%), TRANSCORP (-3.55%) and STANBIC (-2.80%) drove the equities market into the red zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market was bearish today, as there were negative sentiments across the short and long tenor instruments. As a result, Average T-Bills yield increased by 25bps to close at 22.51%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market traded on a flattish note, as the Average FGN Bond yield remained constant to close at 18.81%.
At the NAFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 3.30% to close at NGN 1,354.21/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.88% to USD83.69pb.
