NGXASI Dips -0.38% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.38% today to close at 153,676.82pts, as losses recorded in TRANSCORP (-2.19%), WAPCO (-1.75%) and GTCO (-1.49%) propelled the local bourse into the negative zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market exhibited a negative performance due to the selloffs noticed at the long end of the curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield inched up by 4bps to close at 17.43%. However, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield moderated by 1bp to close at 15.91%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.52% to close at NGN 1,436.97/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) moderated by 0.02% to close at USD64.91pb.
