NGXASI Dips -0.23% 0n Losses in GTCO, TRANSCORP, ZENITHBANK

The NGXASI declined by 0.23% today to close at 144,646.01pts, as the negative sentiments observed in TRANSCORP (-8.44%), ZENITHBANK (-2.46%) and GTCO (-1.40%) drove the local equities market into red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a tepid note, following neutral sentiment observed along all tenors of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield remained constant to close at 16.95%. Likewise, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield traded flattish as yields remained unchanged to close at 15.46%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira slightly weakened by 0.47% to close at NGN 1,454.18/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) retreated by 2.36% to close at USD63.36pb.
