NGXASI Dips -0.32% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.32% today to close at 144,187.03pts, as the negative sentiments observed in TRANSCORP (-8.44%), ZENITHBANK (-2.46%) and GTCO (-1.40%) drove the local equities market into red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bullish note, following positive sentiment observed along the short and long end of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield fell by 6bps to close at 16.89%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield inched higher by 1bp to close at 15.46%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira slightly strengthened by 0.14% to close at NGN 1,452.13/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.23% to close at USD64.29pb.
