NGXASI Declines -0.27% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.27% today to close at 143,790.91pts, as the negative sentiments observed in NAHCO(-9.78%), UNILEVER (-5.48%) and MTNN (-2.11%) drove the local equities market into red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a marginal bullish note, following positive sentiment observed along the three tenors of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bps to close at 16.88%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield inched higher by 4bp to close at 15.48%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira slightly depreciated by 0.32% to close at NGN 1,46.72/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 1.91% to close at USD62.17pb.
