NGXASI Opens Bearish -0.12%, Dragged by Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.12% today to close at 143,614.61pts, as profit taking in STERLINGNG (-6.94%), UBA (-2.85%) and TRANSCORP (-1.10%) drove the local equities market into red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a marginal bearish note, following negative sentiment observed on the mid to long end of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 2bps to close at 16.90%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield moderated by 2bps to close at 15.46%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.20% to close at NGN 1,453.84/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 0.11% to close at USD62.49pb.
