The NGXASI declined by 0.50% to close at 189,321.24pts, as the losses recorded on MTNN (-3.81%), ZENITHBANK(-10.00%) and WAPCO (-4.04%) drove the local equities market into the red zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market exhibited a positive performance following the mild buying interest seen at the long end of the curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield fell by 4bps to close at 17.49%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a tepid note as the Average FGN Bond yield finished today’s session flat at 16.13%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 0.88% to close at NGN 1,335.96/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) decreased by 2.45% to close at USD66.97pb.
