NGXASI Opens Week with +1.39% Gain on Bellwether Interest

The NGXASI advanced by 1.39% to close at 195,514.00pts, as bullish sentiment recorded in DANGCEM (+3.97%), MTNN (+3.03%) and TRANSCORP (+6.63%), drove the equities market into the positive territory.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note driven by the bullish sentiment across all tenor instruments. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield fell by 3bps to close at 17.20%. Meanwhile the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a mildly negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield was up by 1bp to close at 15.55%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 1.07% to close at NGN 1,378.02/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 7.42% to close at USD78.28pb.
