Nigeria’s SEC unveils new rules

NEW RULES/AMENDMENTS OF RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION

 

Pursuant to Section 313(6) of the Investments and Securities Act, 2007, the following new rules are made by the Commission:

 

1. Rules on Negotiated Settlement.

2. Conditions to grant waiver on bonds that are not backed by an irrevocable letter of authority.

3. Custodial Services for registered collective investment schemes.

4. Securities lending and borrowing.

5. Exchange Traded Funds (ETF)

6. Islamic Fund Management

7. Payment of dividends

8. Investment in unlisted equities

9. Other sundry amendments.
