MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Head Northward +0.02% on Banking Sector Gains

Market movers: ACADEMY (+9.45%), ABCTRANS (+8.00%), RTBRISCOE (-6.90%) and STERLNBANK (-0.70%).

Sector Performances: Banking (+0.24%), Consumer Goods, Industrial and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume and value decreased by 9% and 47% respectively, compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded about 21 million units of shares worth N197 million.

MBENEFIT is the most traded stock by volume with about 2 million units of shares accounting for 10% of the total volume.

ZENITHBANK is the most traded stock by value with about N38 million worth of shares accounting for 19% of the total value.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM, MTNN and AIRTELAFRI, the market should close northwards if the gains recorded in the Banking sector persists.
