The local bourse closed positively today as the NGX-ASI inched upwards by 0.02% to settle at 54,507.66 pts
In today’s trade, market breadth index was positive with 20 gainers against 16 losers.
TRIPPLEG (+10.00%) led the gainers, while JAPAULGOLD (-6.67%) was the top loser today.
GTCO (+0.20%) was the most actively traded stock with about 42 million units of shares worth about N1.06 billion.

- NGX Industrial Index: Increased by 0.07%, driven by the buy-interests recorded in TRIPPLEG (+10.00%) and WAPCO (+1.33%).
- NGX Banking Index: Fell by 0.08%, driven by the bearish sentiments seen in FIDELITYBK (-2.99%) and STERLNBANK (-0.66%).
- NGX Consumer Goods Index: Declined by 0.06%, due to the negative performance observed in NASCON (-3.57%) and DANGSUGAR (-0.58%)
- NGX Oil and Gas Index: Shrank by 0.05%, due to the price reduction witnessed in ETERNA (-1.44%).

The equities market recorded a positive performance today due to the gains seen in the Industrial sector. Going forward, we expect investor’s sentiments to be swayed by the search for real positive returns and developments in the interest rate space.
