In today’s trade, market breadth index was broadly positive with 20 gainers against 14 losers.
LASACO (+10.00%) was the top gainer, while CWG (-9.37%) led the losers today.
TRANSCORP (-7.33%) was the most actively traded stock with about 288 million units of shares worth about N685 million.
Sector Performances
· NGX Banking Index: Advanced by 0.61%, due to the bullish sentiment seen across UBA (+4.38%) and FIDELITYBK (+2.69%).
· NGX Consumer Goods Index: Increased by 0.15%, driven by the gains recorded in NNFM (+8.64%), CHAMPION (+8.40%) and DANGSUGAR (+1.19%).
· NGX Industrial Index: Rose by 0.03%, on the back of the buy-interest observed in WAPCO (+0.58%).
· NGX Oil and Gas Index: Closed flat.

The Nigerian equities market recorded a bullish performance today driven by the gains recorded in AIRTELAFRI and across major sectors. Going forward, we expect investor’s sentiments to be swayed by the search for real positive returns and developments in the interest rate space. We reiterate that this may be a great period to pick up some quality names with a medium to long-term investment horizon.
