NGXASI Dips -0.13% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.13% today to close at 145,865.48pts, as profit taking in WAPCO (-2.14%), ZENITHBANK (-1.96%) and GTCO (-1.31%) drove the domestic bourse into the red zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed negative, driven by selloffs at the short and long end of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 4bps to close at 17.94%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a relatively quiet note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 16.52%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.15% to close at NGN1,534.83/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) settled lower by 1.35% to USD65.23pb.
