MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Decline -0.05% on Sell-Offs in Banking Counters

Market movers: SOVRENINS (-8.70%), COURTVILLE (-8.33%), CORNERST (+10.00%), CONOIL (+7.25%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-0.27%), Oil & Gas (+0.24%), Consumer Goods (+0.02%) and Industrial

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value rose by 92% and 80% respectively compared to this time last week Friday as investors have exchanged over 73million units of shares worth about N570.5million. WAPIC is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 42million units of shares accounting for about 58% of total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant gain in DANGCEM, the market may close down today if the sell-off in Banking names persists.
