MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Dip -0.35%, Dragged by the Banking Sector

Market movers: FLOURMILL (-8.57%), WAPIC (-7.69%), CCNN (+9.81%), UNITYBNK (+7.81%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-0.85%), Industrial (+0.82%), Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value increased by 9% and 34% respectively compared to this time yesterday as investors have exchanged over 82million units of shares worth about N1.17billion. GUARANTY (-0.77%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 31million units of shares accounting for about 38% of total volume.  

Likely close: In the absence of a significant gain in DANGCEM, the market may close down today if the loss in the Banking Sector persists.
