At the Board of Directors meeting held on 24th July 2019, the Board of Niger insurance Plc (Niger Insurance or the Company), unanimously appointed Mr. Edwin Igbiti as the substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Niger Insurance Plc, and forwarded the appointment to the insurance industry’s regulator, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), for its statutory approval. 

The Board has not yet received the full approval of the appointment by NAICOM, and as such the Company cannot advertise or publish the appointment until after approval by the Commission. 

The publication made by Nairametrics on the appointment of the substantive MCA/CEEB for Niger Insurance Plc was not authorised by the Company, and the Nigerian Stock Exchange will be duly notified upon the receipt of the approval of the appointment by the National Insurance Commission.
