MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Dip -0.03%, Dragged by Banking Counters

Market movers: LASACO (-3.57%), UCAP (-3.35%). CHAMS (+9.09%) and WAPIC (+6.25%).

Sector Performances: Banking (-0.31%), Industrial, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume and value rose by 18% and 430% compared to this time yesterday as investors have exchanged about 74million units valued at N2.38billion. GUARANTY (-0.37%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 30million units of shares accounting for about 41% of the total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant uptick in the prices of DANGCEM and MTNN, the market may close down today if the loss in the Banking sector persists.
