MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Depreciates -0.40%, Driven by Losses Across Sectors

Market movers:  INTBREW (-9.91%), FLOURMILL (-7.64%), PORTPAINT (+9.96), NPFMCRFBK (+9.68%).

Sector Performances:  Banking (-1.45%), Consumer Goods (-1.36%), Oil & Gas (-0.20%) and Industrial (-0.07%).        

                                                                                               Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value fell by 52% and 70% respectively compared to this time on Friday, as investors have traded about 135million units of shares worth N1.14billion. FIDELITYBK (-3.59%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 28million units of shares accounting for about 21% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the losses in major sectors persist.
