MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Dip -0.1% on Losses in Banking, Consumer Goods Counters

Market movers: PHARMDEKO (-9.52%), JAPAULGOLD (-3.77%), ETERNA (+10.00%) and  NASCON (+7.17%),

Sector Performances: Consumer Goods (-0.17%),  Banking (-0.03%), Oil and Gas (+0.25%) and Industrial.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value declined by 25% and 51% compared to this time yesterday as investors have traded about 42million units of shares worth  N239million. SOVRENINS (+4.35%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 13million units of shares accounting for about 31% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close down today if the losses in the Consumer Goods and Banking sector persist.
