MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Gain +0.01% Driven by Banking, Oil $ Gas Counters

Market movers: OANDO (+6.02%), VERITASKAP (+4.35%), UACN (-8.64%) and WEMABANK (-5.95%)   

Sector Performances: Oil and Gas (+1.00%), Banking (+0.02%), Consumer Goods (-0.02%) and Industrial

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume and value increased by about 11% and 39% respectively compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 83million units of shares worth N492million. UNIVINSURE (-4.76%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 18million units of shares accounting for about 22% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM and MTN, the market may close up today if the gains in the Oil and Gas and Banking sectors persist.
