MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Inch Up +0.01%, Driven by Banking Sector

Market movers: LEARNAFRICA (+4.00%), MULTIVERSE (+3.93%), CAVERTON (-8.80%) and JAIZBANK (-6.59%).

Sector Performances: Banking (+0.02%), Oil and Gas (-0.06%), Consumer Goods (-0.04%) and Industrial.

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume and value decreased by 38% and 42% respectively, compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 33million units of shares worth N319million. ACCESSCORP (+0.55%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 6million units of shares accounting for about 25% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM, MTNN and AIRTELAFRI, the market should close northwards if the gain printed in the Banking sector persists.
