The NGXASI declined by 0.49% today to close at 104,136.35pts, as selloffs in DANGSUGAR (-10.00%), TRANSCORP (-8.41%) and ETI (-7.31%) buoyed the market into the red terrain.
In the Fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed up, majorly driven by bullish sentiment at the short end of the curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield fell by 3bps to close at 17.68%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a flattish note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 19.26%.
At the NAFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 1.64% to close at NGN 1,408.04/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) edged higher by 1.49% to USD86.70pb.
