NGXASI Advance +1.37%, Buoyed by Banking, Industrial Goods Counters

The NGXASI advanced by 1.37% today to close at 126,151.04pts, as the gains recorded in ZENITHBANK (+9.94%), UBA (+9.97%) and WAPCO (+7.07%) pushed the Nigerian bourse into the green.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bullish note due to the positive sentiment observed amongst investors as yields declined across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield contracted by 73bps to close at 18.35%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield decreased by 6bps to 16.86%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.28% to close at NGN1,530.26/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 2.11% to USD70.09pb.
