March 4, 2017/NASD Plc
Despite an aggregate contraction of 1.51% GDP in December 2016, some industries ran counter to the downturn. Agriculture and Mining grew by 4.03% and 1.89% in the last quarter of the year. This implies they may be important catalysts in reversing the downward trend of the economy.
However for this growth to be sustained and spread across board, there are certain key requirements. These industries will require funding through innovative financing, key infrastructure and qualified human capital.
We at NASD believe that long term equity funding may be critical to financing and stimulating this growth.
We have observed the number of discussions around the funding of these industries and have commenced compilation of all suggestions. Feel free to send comments and ideas on how these industries can be best funded to marketoperations@nasdng.com
