The Nigerian equities market closed positive by 0.49% as NGX-ASI closed at 43,444.20 pts.
In today’s trade, market breadth index was neutral with 18 gainers against18 losers.
CUTIX (+8.33%) led the gainers, while TOTAL (-9.97%) was the top loser today.
FBNH (+1.63%) was the most actively traded stock with about 81million units of shares worth about N2.76 billion.
Sector Performances
- NGX Banking Index: Rose by 0.11%, due to the buy-interests recorded in WEMABANK (+2.41%), UBA (+1.83%), JAIZBANK (+1.56%) and STERLNBANK (+0.67%).
- NGX Industrial Index: Inched up by 0.01%, due to the gain recorded in CUTIX(+8.33%).
- NGX Oil and Gas Index: Fell by 2.49%, due to the sell-offs recorded in TOTAL (-9.97%) and SEPLAT (-1.41%).
- NGX Consumer Goods Index: Decreased by 0.38%, due to the losses recorded in GUINNESS (-2.67%), PZ (-0.82%) and NESTLE (-0.71%).
