The Nigerian equities market closed northwards by 0.20% as NGX-ASI closed at 42,353.31 pts. Similarly, the NGX-ASI gained 1.12% WTD.
In today’s trade, market breadth index was positive with 21 gainers against 19 losers.
PHARMDEKO (+10.00%) led the gainers, while CHAMPION (-10.00%) was the top loser today.
INTBREW (+3.19%) was the most actively traded stock with about 83 million units of shares worth about N409 million.
Sector Performances
- NGX Industrial Index: Increased by 0.62%, due to buy interest recorded in DANGCEM (+1.19%).
- NGX Consumer Goods Index: Rose by 0.28%, due to the gains printed in PZ (+5.93%), INTBREW (+3.19%) and NASCON (+2.33%).
- NGX Banking Index: Declined by 0.49%, due to the sell pressure recorded in UBN (-5.15%), ETI (-4.74%), and JAIZBANK (-1.49%).
- NGX Oil and Gas Index: Fell by 0.11%, on the back of the loss printed in ETERNA (-4.31%).

The equities market closed in positive territory today due to the gains printed in the Industrial and Consumer Goods sector. Going forward, we expect investor’s sentiments to be swayed by the search for real positive returns and developments in the interest rate space.
