MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Rise +0.77% Driven by Banking, Industrial Counters

Market movers: ACADEMY (+10.00%)ROYALEX (+9.09%), ARDOVA (-10.00%), and SOVRENINS (-10.00%).

Sector Performances: Industrial (+2.95%), Banking (+0.21%), Oil and Gas (-0.50%), and Consumer Goods.

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume decreased by 56% while value increased by 13%, compared to this time last week Thursday, as investors have traded about 73 million units of shares worth N442 million. MBENEFIT (-3.03%) is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 8 million units of shares accounting for about 11% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant gains in the prices of DANGCEM and MTNN, the market may close northwards today if the gains printed in the Industrial and Banking sectors persist.
