The Nigerian equities market closed southwards by 0.12% as NGX-ASI closed at 46,843.09pts.
In today’s trade, market breadth index was negative with 16 gainers against 18 losers.
PZ (+9.80%) was the top gainer, while INTBREW (-10.00%) led the losers today.
CHAMS (-4.76%) was the most actively traded stock with about 30million units of shares worth about N6million.
Sector Performances
· NGX Banking Index: Declined by 0.99%, due to the losses seen in FIDELITYBK (-4.88%) and ZENITHBANK (-1.27%).
· NGX Oil and Gas Index: Decreased by 0.50% as a result of the sell-offs recorded in OANDO (-3.80%) and ETERNA (-0.20%).
· NGX Consumer Goods Index: Fell by 0.30% on the back of losses printed In INTBREW (-10.00%) and HONYFLOUR (-0.58%).
· NGX Industrial Index: Closed Flat.

The equities market closed southwards today due to the losses witnessed in the Banking, Oil and Gas and Consumer Goods sectors. Going forward, we expect investor’s sentiments to be swayed by the search for real positive returns and developments in the interest rate space. We reiterate that this may be a great period to pick up some quality names with a medium to long-term investment horizon.
