MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Gain 0.15%, Driven by Banking, Industrial Counters

Market movers: MULTIVERSE (+9.93%), UBN (+7.83%), ACADEMY (-10.00%) and NEM (-8.91%) .

Sector Performances: Banking (+0.84%), Industrial (+0.33%), Consumer Goods and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume increased by 4%, while total value decreased by 71% compared to this time last week Friday, as investors have traded about 52 million units of shares worth N242 million. COURTVILLE is the most actively traded stock thus far with about 24 million units of shares accounting for about 46% of the total volume.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM, MTNN and AIRTELAFRI, the market should close northwards if the gains in the banking and industrial sectors persist.
