MIDDAY UPDATE: Nigerian Stocks Gain +0.03%, Driven by Banking, Consumer Goods Sectors

Market movers: REGALINS (+8.70%), JAPAULGOLD (+7.41%), AIICO (-1.72%) and GEREGU (-1.72%).

Sector Performances: Banking (+0.85%), Consumer Goods (+0.01%), Industrial and Oil and Gas.

Market activity: In today’s trade, total volume and value decreased by 4% and 65% respectively, compared to this time yesterday, as investors have traded about 27 million units of shares worth N506 million.

GTCO (-1.10%) is the most traded stock by volume with about 3 million units of shares accounting for 11% of the total volume.  

MTNN (+0.05%) is the most traded stock by value with about N277 million worth of shares accounting for 55% of the total value.

Likely close: In the absence of significant losses in the prices of DANGCEM, MTNN and AIRTELAFRI, the market should close northwards if the gains seen in the Banking and Consumer Goods sectors persist.
